Welcome to the Vegetarian Lunchbox!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I am excited to share my lunches with you, and hope to also get some feedback and new ideas.

About me: my name is Katie and I'm 26 (in fairness, I'll be 27 tomorrow). I'm a native Baltimorean, and I have 3 cats and a dog (Australian Kelpie). I also foster retired racing greyhounds through a local rescue group. I have been vegetarian for about five years now, and I enjoy running, playing with/walking my dog (and whatever foster dog we might have at the moment), reading, linguistics, and cycling. I am a student at Ohio State University and I live in an adorable historic neighborhood called Clintonville. I am fortunate to live a stone's throw from the Clintonville Community Market, which sells tons of local, organic, vegan, and hard to find items. In the warmer months, we walk to the Clintonville Farmers' Market on Saturdays.

In this blog you'll find photos of the lunches I prepare for myself and for my partner, Chip. He works a 9 to 5, and I pack his lunch most days. I pack his lunches with the Laptop Lunch series of containers. They are cute, fun, easy to use, and they encourage me to come up with 3 to 4 different items to pack. I attempt to include one or more fruit/veg, one protein, one carb, and one dessert with each meal.

I hope you enjoy the lunches, and please feel free to post comments with your suggestions, ideas, thoughts, pointers, etc.

  2. hey :) with your blog i found exactly what i've been looking for when typing in "vegetarian lunchbox" at google. I'm 17 years old and vegetarian for over a year now myself. recently i decided to become mora healthy so i started making myself lunchboxes to take to school, which are normally vegan. (i am aming to use on as many vegan products as possible without being out of normal life which means eating a pizza once in a while or eating at friends'). So i needed inspiration but most luchboxes on the internet are packed with meat and alike. so i found this blog great, i like how you take the pictures of the lunchboxes, explain what they're filled with and i found interesting how your eating habbits develop from 2009 to 2011. So thank you very much for this inspiration!

(p.s. i get many good comments on my lunchbox! some friends even asked me to bring something for them as well^^)
